Whether you're facing a loss tonight or planning ahead so your family never has to guess, our licensed directors will walk you through every step, gently and honestly, with every price in writing.
Service times, livestreams, and a place to share memories.
If a death has just occurred
There is no wrong way to begin. If your loved one died at home under hospice care, call the hospice nurse first. If the death was unexpected, call 911. Then call us, at any hour.
They will confirm the death and notify the coroner if required. There is no rush after that.
Take time to say goodbye. We'll ask a few simple questions and arrange a time to come.
Two members of our team arrive, usually within 90 minutes, with dignity and care.
Usually the next day, at our home or yours. Bring a few photos and any questions.
Recent obituaries
Every obituary includes service details, a livestream link when the family chooses one, and a guestbook where friends near and far can share memories and photos.

Services & honest pricing
Most families never have to compare funeral homes until the worst week of their lives. We think you deserve to see real numbers first, so here they are. Nothing is ever added without your written approval.

Plan ahead
Pre-planning takes about an hour, costs nothing to start, and spares the people you love from making dozens of decisions in their hardest week.
Personal, meaningful services
A fishing-boat memorial on the lake. A backyard barbecue with his recipes. A chapel filled with her garden flowers. We help families create services as unique as the life they honor.

At our chapel, your church, a park, or a favorite restaurant.

We coordinate with every cemetery in Fairview County.

Fingerprint jewelry, memorial quilts and tribute videos.

On the water, in the woods, or at a place that mattered.

Catholic, Protestant, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu and secular services.
What families say
They answered at 3 AM like it was the middle of the afternoon. They made the worst night of my life a little less frightening.
The price on the website was the price we paid. Not one surprise, and nobody ever tried to upsell us on anything.
Our family is spread across six states. The livestream let my brother in Germany be part of Mom's service. That meant everything.
Our family, serving yours
Walter Whitford opened our doors on Maple Street in 1952 with a simple rule: treat every family like your neighbors, because they are. His granddaughter, Anne Whitford Hale, still answers the phone some nights.
Grief support
Grief doesn't follow a schedule, so our support doesn't either. Every family we serve, and anyone in our community, is welcome at no cost.
