Locally owned · Serving Fairview since 2013

The ants come back every spring. This year, they won't.

ClearShield treats your home like a lab problem, not a spray-and-pray job: identify the species, find the entry point, treat the colony — then seal and monitor so it stays fixed. Kid- and pet-safe products, applied by state-certified technicians.

  • Same-week appointments — most jobs start under $200
  • Free re-treatment between visits if pests return
  • Ohio Dept. of Agriculture certified applicators

Seeing carpenter ants (the big black ones, ⅜–½") in March or April? That usually means a nest in damp wood — call sooner rather than later, before they're excavating a sill plate.

The question every good parent asks

"Is this safe for my dog? My toddler?"

Short answer: yes — once dry, treated areas are safe for kids and pets. Most applications dry in 30–45 minutes, and your technician tells you the exact re-entry time before leaving.

The longer answer is about where we treat, not just what we use. Modern pest control isn't fogging your living room. We apply targeted, EPA-registered products at label rates into cracks, crevices, voids, and the exterior perimeter — the places pests travel and your beagle doesn't lick.

We follow an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) approach: baits over broadcast sprays indoors, physical exclusion (sealing) over repeat chemical visits, and honest advice when the fix is a door sweep, not a treatment.

EPA-registered, label-rate only

Every product we carry is registered for residential use. The label is federal law, and our techs are audited on it twice a year.

Dry in 30–45 minutes

Keep kids and pets off treated surfaces until dry — that's it. Your tech texts you when it's clear, and it's noted on the service report.

Aquarium, garden & chicken-coop aware

Tell us about fish tanks, veggie beds, or backyard hens at booking — we adjust products and placement around them, every time.

We'll tell you when NOT to treat

A handful of pantry moths doesn't need a service visit. About 1 in 6 inspections ends with free advice and no invoice.

Method

Four steps, documented like a lab protocol

Every visit ends with a written service report: what we found, what we applied, where, and when we re-check. You'll never wonder what the tech actually did.

Inspect

A 25–40 minute walkthrough, inside and out. We identify the species (it changes the treatment), find moisture and entry points, and photograph evidence.

DELIVERABLE: FINDINGS REPORT

Treat

Species-specific plan: non-repellent baits for ants, dust in voids for wasps, tamper-resistant stations for rodents. Applied at label rate, logged by product and location.

DELIVERABLE: TREATMENT LOG

Seal

Treatment without exclusion is a subscription to the same problem. We seal the gaps we found — silicone, copper mesh, door sweeps — up to 5 entry points included.

DELIVERABLE: EXCLUSION CHECKLIST

Monitor

Re-check at 14 days on one-time jobs; every visit on plans. Monitors stay in place between services so we see activity before you do.

What Fairview homeowners say

★★★★★
Third spring in a row with ants marching across the kitchen counter — first spring they didn't come back. The tech found the trail going under the deck, baited the colony instead of just spraying the counters, and sealed the gap by the hose bib. April to August: nothing.
Melissa K. · Fairview · Quarterly plan
★★★★★
Yellowjacket nest in the soffit right over our back door, kids couldn't use the yard. Called Tuesday, treated Thursday, and he came back the next week — no charge — to confirm the nest was dead and pull it out. Asked about our dog before he touched anything.
Neil H. · Cedar Grove · One-time + follow-up
★★★★½
Heard scratching in the attic in November — mice coming in at a chewed gable vent. ClearShield set stations, sealed the vent with mesh, and the monitoring showed zero hits by week three. Half a star only because the first appointment slot was four days out during their busy season.
Gwen T. · Maplewood · Rodent exclusion
